Description
GC Gold Label 2 is a strontium-based glass ionomer restorative cement formulated to provide a reliable seal and long-term clinical performance. The inclusion of strontium glass enhances radiopacity for improved diagnosis and contributes to the formation of strontium hydroxyapatite and fluorapatite, supporting internal remineralization.
This material interacts with the calcium present in saliva, promoting a surface-strengthening effect over time. Its chemical adhesion to enamel and dentin creates a consistent ion-exchange zone that establishes a durable, predictable seal without the need for extensive mechanical retention.
The cement’s glossy surface after mixing indicates proper reactivity for the ion exchange process. Suitable for minimally invasive restorations, it supports conservative preparation while maintaining long-term integrity and ease of use.
