Description
AvueCal is a pre-mixed, radiopaque calcium hydroxide paste used in endodontic procedures. Supplied in a ready-to-use syringe, it is suitable for temporary root canal fillings, weeping canals, internal resorption, and perforation management. The paste is water-soluble, has a high pH, and can be easily removed from the canal when required.
Calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)₂] has long been recognized in endodontics for its antimicrobial and healing-supportive properties. AvueCal helps disinfect the root canal by releasing hydroxyl ions, which alter the local pH and reduce bacterial presence. It also promotes hard tissue formation, especially useful in cases of resorption or perforation.
