VOCO Provicol is a temporary luting material formulated for a range of provisional restorations. With semi-elastic properties, it ensures stable yet retrievable retention for inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges, posts, and attachments. It’s also appropriate for temporarily filling small one-surface cavities.
This cement supports the formation of tertiary dentin and offers bacteriostatic effects, contributing to a controlled environment during provisional phases. Being eugenol-free, Provicol minimizes the risk of allergic reactions and will not interfere with the polymerization of resin-based restorative or luting materials—making it a practical option ahead of adhesive cementation.
The material mixes easily at a 1:1 ratio (base and catalyst by weight), reaching a uniform consistency in approximately 20 seconds. It provides 1.5 to 2 minutes of working time and can be trimmed or removed after 3 to 5 minutes. When used in tubes, moistening the restoration with water can simplify removal. Any residual material can be cleared effectively with a cooling spray.
